Information security, encryption, privacy & electronic payments IT professional. UK-based with pre-sales experience across Europe and worldwide.
I help people find tools and solutions to solve complex business problems. This always starts with a conversation — but the journey may involve presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, RFXs, and commercial and legal discussions. At the end of the day, it's all about talking, learning, teaching, and adapting in an ever-changing world. I've been passionate about computers since I can remember — there's something magical about making a machine do what you want it to do. Over more than two decades working in software companies, that passion has only deepened. I've worn many hats: from software engineer to security architect to pre-sales consultant, working with organisations across the UK, Europe, and globally. I'm equally at home in technical deep-dives and boardroom conversations, helping clients navigate complex challenges in data protection, encryption, privacy compliance, and electronic payments. My expertise spans data-centric technologies (tokenisation, format-preserving encryption, hashing, and encryption), privacy regulations (GDPR, LGPD, POPI, PCI DSS), and modern payment systems (EMV, end-to-end encryption, contactless, and merchant processing). Most recently, I've led pre-sales for OpenText's Voltage Data Privacy and Protection solutions — genuinely innovative encryption and key management for protecting sensitive data across cloud, databases, applications, and beyond. When I'm not messing around on a computer, you'll find me in the kitchen baking something, or abroad exploring the world — the name CouchSurfer is a nod to my love of travel.
